Lanzarote is the most unique of the Canary Islands due to the amazing colors of its volcanic landscapes, contrasting with the blue of the Atlantic Ocean. Lanzarote’s beautiful beaches of white and golden sand, lush palm trees and the peace and quiet you experience there are also an attractive part of the Lanzarote landscape.
What To See In Lanzarote
The Cesar Manrique Foundation is located in the center of Lanzarote. Cesar Manrique was a painter, architect, sculptor and ecologist who decided to make his island the most beautiful in the world. He dedicated his life to raise awareness of how respecting nature and traditional architecture was crucial for the island of Lanzarote. Manrique’s work is integrated in the natural landscape and is notorious for their simplicity.

Jameos del Agua was also created by Cesar Manrique who transformed a lava tube to create this Art, Culture and Tourism Center. Inside, there is an incredible natural lake connected to the sea. You can also find a pool of turquoise water, the Tunnel of Atlantis, and the world’s only auditorium in a volcanic cave, with seats 550 people.

Mirador del Rio stands at 400 meters high, on the Risco de Famara, Mirador del Rio is one of Cesar Manrique’s most representative architectural creations in Lanzarote. Although it may look modest on the outside, the inside hides surprising details and beautiful glass windows, created by the artist aiming to increase the effect of the panoramic view.
