Spain Destinations: San Juan De Los Reyes Monastery In Toledo

If you visit Toledo, you can’t miss this incredible monastery located on the southwest of the city, next to the Jewish Quarter. San Juan de los Reyes Monastery was commissioned by the Catholic Monarchs in 1476. The monastery is an example of Gothic-Flemish style which contrasts with the predominant Arab or Jewish art you can find throughout the city.

San Juan de los Reyes is beautifully kept and it is worth going in and seeing the idyllic courtyard surrounded by two levels of cloisters which will give you a sense of peace. You can either choose a self guided tour or an audio tour for just $3, but the best way to visit all of Toledo’s monuments is to purchase a “Tourist bracelet”, with which you can visit 7 monuments for €10.
