Costa Blanca (White Coast) is one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Spain. Altea, located in the region of Alicante,  is a really pretty town, popular with both international and local tourists.

What To See In Altea

The charming white old town of Altea, located on a hill, is considered to be the landmark and the most important attraction in town. You can walk through its narrow streets and admire the unique beauty of the snow-white houses.

As you walk around the old town, you can do some shopping at one of the many shops surrounded by amazing viewpoints from which you will enjoy a breathtaking Mediterranean view.

The church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo with its magnificent domes made of blue tiles, shapes the cityscape. The church is worth seeing from the inside too and can be visited free of charge.

For those looking for sun and fun, Altea offers 8 km of coastline dotted with magnificent sandy beaches and crystal clear waters with hidden coves. Altea’s two main beaches are  Roda Beach and Cap Blanch Beach, but they can get get really busy in the summer. 

So, If you’re looking for a more private experience, you can consider Mascarat Beach. With more than 500 meters of sand, perfect clear water for swimming and diving, its occupancy is half as most of the beaches in Altea.
