O Lar do Mar (The House of the Sea) is a beautifully restored stone house from the XIX century near Carnota, a pristine beach that is more than 7 Km. long and it is ranked among the 100 best beaches in the world by the German magazine “Traum Strände”.
The house was a total wreck and only the stone walls were up. In 2019 the project was finished and it is now open as a small boutique hotel. It consists of two houses that can be booked for groups or families. Each house features two bedrooms, a full bath, a living room/dining room and a kitchen.
You can also book a room individually and you will be surprised to see the details on each of the rooms. They are all named after nature: Sand, Breeze, Stone, Star. The owners take great care to make guests feel comfortable, there are many outdoors activities you can do and amazing sites to visit. Highly recommended!
